MASTER OF BIBLICAL STUDIES (M.B.S.)
Objective
The purpose of the Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.) program is to equip its graduates with knowledge of Bible, Theology, and Ministry in depth so that they are able to serve the Lord as pastors in local Churches or as teachers of the Bible.
Admission Requirements
All applicants who want to enroll in the Master of Biblical Studies program must meet all of the following requirements:
• Baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent;
• Vietnamese proficiency and English reading proficiency;
• Member in good standing at a local evangelical Church;
• A written statement outlining vocational objectives and how the degree might relate to those objectives.
Graduation Requirements
The Master of Biblical Studies degree will be granted to the student who has satisfactorily completed at least 66 units of Bible, Theology, and Ministry as described in the curriculum. In addition, the student must write a 80-100 page thesis with a prior approved topic by his/her academic advisor and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Time limit for the degree is 2 to 5 years, beginning on the date of the student's first registration for M.B.S. courses at the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School. Students who have B.A. or B.Sc. or its equivalent in non-biblical fields should take 12 units (prerequisites) of Bible not included in the above 66 units before enrolling in the regular program.
Transfer Policy
Up to three courses or 9 units of graduate studies are transferable to the program. The content of transfer courses must be compatible with that of courses offered at the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School.
