GRADUATION APPROVAL FOR PROSPECTIVE GRADUATES
In order to be considered as a recipient of a degree or certificate, the following criteria must be met:
  1. A student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
  2. A student must be of sound moral character.
All students’ work will be reviewed by the Registrar and the Academic Dean in their final year, to determine whether each student will be considered a candidate for graduation. A petition for graduation must be submitted to the Registrar at least one semester prior to the coming graduation date. The application for graduation must be accompanied by payment of a non-refundable $100 USD graduation fee and an academic regalia fee.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Degrees and certificates are awarded only to those who have satisfactorily completed the following criteria:
  1. The completion of all course requirements and a thesis (if required) as outlined in the student’s chosen program.
  2. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
  3. Evidence of sound Christian character as measured by the Scripture.
  4. Approval by the Faculty and the Board of Trustees.
  5. Payment of all financial accounts with the School before reception of the student’s diploma or transcript.
  6. The completion of a Graduation Request Form the semester before graduation. Forms are available from the Registrar.
Since the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School is a professional school training persons for Christian ministries and leadership, it demands a high standard of character and conduct as measured by the Scriptures. Students who, in the opinion of the Faculty and the administrative staff, do not demonstrate these qualities during their course of study at the School will not be recommended for graduation. Responsibility for understanding and meeting graduation requirements rests entirely with the student.

GRADUATION HONORS
  1. GPA of at least 3.90 summa cum laude (undergraduate), highest honors (graduate)
  2. GPA of at least 3.75 magna cum laude (undergraduate), high honors (graduate)
  3. GPA of at least 3.50 cum laude (undergraduate), honors (graduate)
The cumulative GPA will be determined after all graded courses have been recorded, and that GPA will determine the specific honor which will be printed on the transcript and diploma.

GRADUATION CEREMONY
All students currently enrolled for credit are expected and required to attend the graduation ceremony. If a student wants to graduate in absentia, he/she must present a written request to graduate in absentia to the Academic Dean of the School at least one month prior to graduation. If approved, the Dean will forward a copy of the approval letter to the Registrar's office.
