TRANSFER CREDITS
If students have earned credits at other colleges, universities or seminaries, they may be validated for transfer to the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School under the following considerations:
  1. The credits must be compatible in nature, content, and level with those offered by the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School.
  2. The credits must be appropriate and applicable to those of the programs offered at the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School.
Up to 60 semester units of the undergraduate level or its equivalent may be transferred from another institution. Students wishing to transfer courses or degrees from a foreign institution of higher learning must submit an official evaluation of their credentials. These credits must have a minimum grade point average of 2.00 or a “C”.

Up to three courses or nine semester units of the graduate level may be transferred. Only equivalent graduate-level courses taken at seminaries or divinity schools within the past five years may be transferred and only courses in which grades of “B” (3.0) or higher were earned will be accepted. Transfer courses will show on transcripts as “credit” only. Transfer credits will fulfill master’s units needed to complete degree requirements. Requests for course transfers must be submitted within the student’s first semester of enrollment.

Note that a distinction is made between credits accepted for admission purposes and those accepted toward degree requirements. In other words, certain credits may be acceptable as electives, but may not qualify toward a major if the equivalent major is not offered by the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School.

The Registrar’s Office at the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School determines which credits will be transferred as those required and which may be applied toward a degree program. In some cases, a given academic division may be consulted before a final decision is made.
