At the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School, the academic load is determined as follows:

- For the undergraduate level, a full academic load is considered to be at least 12 credit hours during each regular semester. The maximum study load recommended by the School is 18 credit hours per semester. Below 12 credit hours is considered part time and at least six credit hours are required to be considered half time.
- For the graduate level, a full academic load is considered to be at least 9 credit hours during each regular semester. The maximum study load recommended by the School is 15 credit hours. Below 9 credit hours is considered part time.
